I made this cider last fall for a Halloween party and ever since then it has become a year round favorite. It is a super easy recipe that includes some store bought ingredients and some homemade touches if you are up for it.
1.75L Bottle of Apple Juice
Cinnamon syrup recipe below
Whip cream (store bought or homemade)
Caramel (store bought or homemade) recipe below
The easiest thing to do is make a large batch of cider so you can have it for a week or so. In a large pot add your apple juice and ¼ cup cinnamon syrup. Bring to a simmer and serve. For an extra special treat top with whip cream and a drizzle of caramel.
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup water
1 Tbsp cinnamon
In a small pot add sugars, water and stir. Bring to a light boil on medium-low heat until sugars are completely dissolved. Once dissolved turn off heat, add cinnamon and mix. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to an airtight container. Keep in the fridge. If syrup hardens warm to become liquid again. Makes roughly ½ cup.
¾ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup of butter
¼ cup plus 2 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla (add to heavy whipping cream before adding to sugar/butter mixture)
In a small pot, add sugar and on medium-low heat continuously stir until sugar becomes liquid. Once sugar has become liquid, add butter and stir until dissolved. While stirring slowly add the heavy whipping cream. Bring to a light boil for 1 minute and remove from heat. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to an airtight container. Keeps in fridge for up to 2 weeks, but I doubt it will last that long because it is that good. Makes roughly 1 cup.
